Nikon S70 vs Nikon S60
Bigger Screen, Wider Lens, More Megapixels
The Nikon Coolpix S60 started a new line of sleek digital cameras from Nikon that featured a very usable touch screen. However, with their second model in the line-up, the Nikon S70, Nikon has taken the coolpix camera to a whole new level.
Both Nikon cameras are controlled entirely by the touch screen, even incorporating the zoom into the touch functionality. However, the Nikon s70 digital camera improves significantly on its predecessor by improving the responsiveness of the screen. What's more, the Coolpix s70 also has a nice 3.5 inch OLED panel, giving the picture a better quality as well.
In the numbers realm, the Nikon s70 also ups the ante with an additional 2 megapixels, bringing it from the Coolpix s60's hefty 10mp to an even larger 12.1mp on the Coolpix s70. The other major change to the digital camera is that the lens is now wide angle, allowing better close-up shots as well as better wide shots through the Nikon s70.
Overall, the Nikon s70's look and feel are significantly improved over the s60. The only worry is that the camera's lens is not as fast, resulting in potentially weaker photos when used in dark venues. However, in most respects, the Nikon s70 is a big step forward for Nikon digital cameras.
